South India's bankable hero Prithviraj and pretty Genelia have been roped in to play the lead roles in India’s most proficient cinematographer-turned-filmmaker Santosh Sivan's bilingual film Urumi, based on the assassination of Portuguese explorer Vasco Da Gama, who arrived in Kappad near Calicut, on May 20, 1498.
Set in the backdrop of the 15th century, the film is about a group of men who wanted to assassinate Vasco Da Gama for his cruel deeds. It will be simultaneously shot in Tamil, Hindi, English and Malayalam. Prithviraj enacts the role of the group’s leader, while Genelia takes on the role of a Portugal princess.
